With the Utah Jazz on hold with the rest of the NBA, fans have a lot of extra time now. The Jazz Bear is hosting a reading challenge, asking kids to read 600 minutes between now and April 27, 2020. Yeah, 600 minutes. That sounds kind of crazy, but it’s 10 hours. Chances are that your teachers are asking for that much reading for remote learning anyway, so why not let the Jazz Bear know what awesome readers you have?

Finishing the challenge lets you enter a drawing for Utah Jazz gear! Right now, the site mentions an autographed team ball or an autographed jersey. You have to upload your minutes on this site by April 27, 2020. Download the reading challenge tracker, which divides the challenge into 20 minute increments, for kids to mark their progress. Hint: If you want to print the tracker, Shutterfly has free economy shipping (ends March 25th) and you can get an 8×10″ print of the tracker delivered for about $3. Yay for social distancing!
Coincidentally, 20 minutes a weekday is how long my 2nd grader is being asked to read by his teacher, so this makes it a lot more fun!
