Summer is here and the races are coming! Northern Utah offers a variety of serious and not-so-serious running events in June and July. We’ve rounded up some of our favorites for your summer running schedule, so get out there and earn some bling! While many events have been canceled or postponed, these ones are currently still on the books. Please contact race organizers directly with questions.
Summer Running – Northern Utah
SoJo Glow Run, 7/10/2020
This is a late night one, starting at 11:00 PM to take advantage of the glow theme. Taking place at Mulligans in South Jordan, this race is $25 (5K) or $35 (10K) with prizes for the top three finishers and a race shirt and medal for everyone. Take note, past participants say taking a headlamp is a good idea.
Steel Days Run, 7/11/2020
American Fork’s Steel Days includes a half marathon, 5K, and 1/2 mile kids race. Entry fees range from $13 (kids race) to $33 (half marathon) currently, with pricing going up closer to the event. During registration make sure to use the Facebook share option for $3 off registration, and you will receive an automatic 15% off when you register 4 or more people at the same time.

South Davis Handcart Days, 7/18/2020
Featuring a half marathon, 5K and 1K kids race, this Bountiful race has something for everyone. Entry fees range from $15 (kids race) to $45 (half marathon), and pricing goes up on June 28. Packets will include race shirts, pre-race snacks, sponsor swag, race bibs & timing chips. Finishers medals will be awarded as well.
Timpanogos Races, 8/1/2020
Celebrate the 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY of the Timp Half by running the Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, or Kid’s 1/2 Mile and enjoy the sights of the beautiful American Fork Canyon. Entry includes a finisher medal, shirt, timing chip, and swag bag. Entry fees are currently $10 (kids) to $90 (half marathon) and pricing will go up again towards the end of June. $5 of each entry fee is donated to Five for the Fight and The Huntsman Cancer Institute. Also, when you register make sure to use the Facebook share option for $3 off, and you will receive an automatic 15% off when you register 4 or more people at the same time. Lots of race amenities!
Summer Running – Virtual Races
Life Full of Color, 6/15/2020
You’re going to want to jump on this one ASAP! A pricier 5K race, but includes a Life Full of Color Finisher Medal (unicorns!), the Official Life Full of Color Finisher Shirt, 1 pack of color powder, a Tyvek Race Bib, and Running Buff. If you want to do it with family and friends then make sure you email contact@thevirtualrunchallenge.com for a special discount code valid for add on participants. Then get out, run, and take lots of colorful photos!

Stars and Stripes, 7/1/2020
Participants will walk or run the 13 Mile, 50 Mile, or even the 63 Miles Virtual Challenge. Participants will receive a Stars & Stripes Challenge Finisher Medal, Official Tyvek Race Bib, and a Stars & Stripes Finisher Patch. Registration is $27 for participants in the US, and signing up for their email list will save you 10% on your entry.
Runner Mania, 7/3/2020
RunnerMania is a virtual running festival from July 3 – 5 2020. The event options include 5k, a half marathon, and the headliner event: a 24 Hour Ultra judged based on completing as many miles as you can over a 24-hour time period. Participants competing in the 5k and Half Marathon will be expected to complete their distance over the weekend starting July 3rd and ending July 5th. The 24 Hour Ultra will start at 12 pm ET for all participants on July 4th and end on July 5th. 5k & Half Marathon Participants will get a finisher medal, shirt, and race bib. 24 Hour Ultra participants will also get a buckle, event shirt, and race bib.
