Last Hurrah Free Event
Say goodbye to 2018 at Gateway’s FREE Last Hurrah event beginning at 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve in downtown Salt Lake City. Expect live entertainment on the main stage and a Game Room for the kids that’s open until the fireworks at midnight. Grown-ups can venture inside the Speakeasy Lounge (over 21, no cover) for adult beverages and fun. All free, except for lounge drinks.
Temple Square New Year’s Eve Festivities
Take one last look at the lights and enjoy free New Year’s Eve music and family-friendly entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. at Temple Square. Full event schedule below.

NYE at Canyon Village in Park City
Spending New Year’s Eve with the family in Park City? Head to Canyons Village for family-friendly activities beginning at 3 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and music from a local DJ. Enjoy fire pits and hot chocolate to stay warm while listening to free music performances.
If you’re looking to get the kids in bed early, but still celebrate the New Year, bring them to Canyons Village’s 7:30 p.m. fireworks display then call it an early night. Adults-only events continue into the evening.
Torchlight Parades in the Mountains
A popular way to ring in the New Year near Salt Lake City, these torchlight parades are free to attend.
Deer Valley Torchlight Parade
Technically, this event is on the eve of New Year’s Eve (December 30). The annual Torchlight Parade is presented by Deer Valley’s ski school and features between 50 and 100 talented skiers holding red torches. The parade is held on Big Stick ski run just behind the Snow Park Lodge and is FREE to watch.
NYE Torchlight Parade and Fireworks
The Bird is the word! Head to Snowbird’s New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks to kick off 2019 with family and friends. Event begins at 6 p.m. with the Torchlight Parade and fireworks starting at 6:30. Enjoy free hot cocoa around the fire pits from 6 to 7 p.m.
Solitude Torchlight Parade
Add magic to your New Year’s Eve celebration at Solitude Mountain Resort’s Last Chance Lodge where there’s a free magic show for children at dusk. Beginning at 6 p.m. a synchronized team skis down the mountain with lit torches. The parade and magic show are free with food and drink available for purchase.
